![]() Hi, I'm Joe
I launched this website for those like me who are curious about the nuanced tactics and strategies that professionals, social engineers, and organisations use to shape our thoughts and decisions. Our weekly videos explore the art & science behind the influence and manipulation techniques used by industry experts, advertisers, marketers, and social engineers. These insights are designed to equip you with knowledge and skills to recognise, and then counteract manipulative strategies, Personally, when I'm endeavouring to positively influence others, I remind myself of the two following poignant observations: "We are not thinking machines that feel; we are feeling machines that think," - Antonio Damasio. "People will forget what you said and did, but they will never forget how you made them feel." - Maya Angelou. Are you a PhD expert or Psychologist? No. I don't hold a PhD, nor am I an academic or a psychologist. I am an enthusiast of behavioural economics, social science, psychology, and all things related to "why we do what we do",
I have a diverse professional background in business management, sales, advertising, marketing, people skills training, and adult education. Academically, my curiosity (fueled in part by ADHD) has led me to explore social science, psychology, health science, pedagogy, and linguistics at multiple universities. These combined experiences reflect my curiousity and enthusiasm (yes, I'm a geek on weekdays and a nerd on weekends) for trying to better understand how people's thoughts, feelings, and actions are affected by contexts, frameworks, and strategies employed by others. To ensure transparency, all media and articles produced by us includes a bibliography. Why? Because we think it's important for you to know where our ideas, inspiration, and findings are sourced and researched.
